Oil consumption advice on VW transporter T6 204 BiTDi. Hi looking for a bit of advice regarding my van, I know the history with the T5 180 engines and high oil however it’s supposed to be fixed on my model. I’ve owned the van since march and have covered between 1500-2000 miles since then. In that time it has consumed 5-6 litres of oil.

The earlier comment regarding the AA removing 1L of oil to get the dipstick level down to 50% should be worrying as the total oil capacity is 7L.

The van went in for a service on Monday and during the usual investigation video that they do at VW they identified evidence of an oil leak around the sump area. To determine the cause of the leak, VW say they will need to remove the gearbox which means that the investigation will cost a minimum of ÂŁ490. Fixing the leak I hope will be covered
